I just encountered the expression "the Noughties" as the term to refer to the first decade of this century. A quick review of its use leads me to believe it's big in the UK (BBC uses it), but I have to say it's my first introduction to it.
Unbidden, images of Monty Python-esque animation come to mind--little animated figures in their knickers (or less) making unintelligible grunts and giggles, running in and out of the frame on speeded up film...
Surely I'm not the only one who hears this as "the Naughties"?

Eleanor, Do you mean are there women in the imagined animation of the Naughties? But of course. I just used the first animation still I found that involved a fig leaf...
