Get out the good stuff. B has had an article accepted by a refereed journal.
Some of you may know that he went to Mexico to do research for an article last January. He cranked on it and submitted it in mid-April. It's a really interesting project that grew out of a casual conversation with colleagues at a conference in Washington, DC (oh that's why they go to those things!). He was looking at the historical figure Sor Juana and the representations of her in popular culture and in education. This paper focuses on the appearance of Sor Juana in the elementary school textbooks which are provided by the government to all schools, public and private.
So the forthcoming article, "Representaciones de sor Juana Inés de la Cruz en los Libros de Texto Gratuitos de México, 1960-2005" ("Representations of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz in the public education textbooks, 1960-2005") will appear in the journal Cuadernos de música, artes visuales y artes escéicas (Journal of music, visual arts, and performing arts), published by Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogotá, Colombia.

Congrats B!! That's one refereed pub in the barn. Will you have Veuve Clicquot or Dom Perignon?
Thanks!
Actually, I opened a very special (numbered) bottle of Tequila that my Mom got for me a long time ago.
It is quite tasty. Not sure, though, if the knowledge of having my first article accepted made it taste better of it really is that good.
¡Salud!
