Dear readers and wine aficionados:
I've heard murmurings about allegedly drinkable box wines coming out in recent years. Jeffrey Lindenmuth has an article on epicurious.com, "Top 5 Box Wines."
They all sound like 'quaffing' wines, but seriously, if they are even moderately drinkable, they'd be perfect for picnics at the beach. (In the evening. We of course drink BEER during the heat of the day.)
Are the rumors true? Have any of you tried any of these?
Let us know!

Where is burpy or tipsy on this one?
Hmm . . . a direct challenge! OK, so we've tried the Black Box wine on more than one occasion, and we haven't been disappointed yet. The only trouble is having the seemingly endless availability of open wine, and you can't tell how much you've consumed until suddenly the box is quite light and you think it should probably have lasted a bit longer than it did. Ah well. We can attest that it does stay fresh-tasting for at least a week and a half. (Tipsy)
so good to have an expert weigh in!
