The Flying Scotsman

The Flying Scotsman (2006) is based on the autobiography of Graeme Obree, a Scottish cyclist who is famous for designing his own bike and introducing a new riding position. Most memorable for the press and non-cyclists, he is known for having incorporated part of his washing machine in the bike that he built.

I had heard an interview with Billy Boyd (you may know him as Pippin from The Lord of the Rings triology), who plays Obree's friend/manager, and I put the movie in the queue. I'd previously never heard of this person, but when I told B I'd heard about this new movie about a guy who built a bike with a part from his washing machine, he knew exactly who it was (of course).

We really enjoyed the film. You don't have to be a bike lover, but it doesn't hurt.
I give it 4 1/2 chainrings.
