I just can't resist jockey Mike Smith -- born in Roswell, New Mexico, you know.
I'm not exactly an aficianado, but I'm amazed that people who don't follow racing at all completely discount the jockey. It's like saying that Trek won the Tour de France.
(Ok, not quite, but you see where I'm going with that...)
